My mission is to spread delight across the planet. I endeavor to do so by creating one-of-a-kind artist books and humorous greeting cards. I spread the joy of making art through my in person and on line classes. My art is eco-friendly: I use recycled or found materials, scrounged from flea markets, garage sales, library sales, and yes, the trash!
I have been making art most of my life. Over the years I have played with clay, photography, metalwork, jewelry making, found object sculptures and paper art. I began specializing in artist books in 2009. Since then I have created hundreds of books and I have taught over 70 book structures. I have taught in person for Foothill and De Anza Colleges (Community Services), Palo Alto Adult School, Palo Alto Art Center, Pacific Art League of Palo Alto., Santa Fe Book Arts and the Timken Museum. I have taught bookmaking on line for Triangle Books, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, NORBAG and San Diego Book Arts.
I teach bookmaking classes by Zoom most Saturdays on my own platform. Check out the "Classes and Events" page for my schedule. My students find me to be creative, fun and well-organized.
You can buy my work here on my site and at Bay Area art fairs. You can set up a private viewing of my work. Give me a call: 650-346-0520. I post to Instagram every day and you can see my latest work there @daveykit.
I live in Redwood City, California with my husband and my dog, Flynn.
