S.F. Bay Area Printers’ Fair & Wayzgoose

Activities planned for the day include:
LP-ThingsLetterpress Demonstrations & Shop Tours: Museum Print Shop

San Jose Printers’ Guild members will help visitors print keepsakes on several vintage presses from handset wood and metal type, and lead tours of a 1900s era print shop.

Letterpress Printers’ Market & Shopping Letterpress Supplies and Printed Goods, Book Arts, etc.: Exhibitors will be offering letterpress printed goods, artist books, fine papers, ink, handset type, and reference materials, as well as printing presses, tools, and equipment for printing and related crafts.

WikiupArtist/Exhibitor Demonstrations
Exhibitors and featured artists and craftsmen will demonstrate the skills related to printing and book arts, and show visitors how to set type and impress ink onto paper. Demonstrations include hand papermaking, linocut and woodblock printing, and hand-setting metal type to print on a tabletop press. Visitors can print their own poster from wood type courtesy of the San Jose Printers’ Guild. Don’t forget to ride the historic trolley for free!  Visit me at my booth!  I will selling artist books, snarky greeting cards and paper houses.

Lunch will be available from a food truck on the grounds. Cold drinks and frozen treats will be available at O’Brien’s Candy Store & Ice Cream Parlor in the Pacific Hotel.

Park for free on local streets or use the San Jose city parking lot on Phelan Ave. for $6.

Collage Card Making Class:  Sun. , August 12, 1:00 to 4:00 pm

Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Rd., Palo Alto

 

Come learn how to make 6 types of collage cards.  Whether you are a beginner or an advanced artist, you will learn easy and fun techniques to create your own unique and beautiful art cards.  You will be able to make 6 to 10 cards in class.  Most materials will be provided, but you will need to bring a few basic supplies. 

Cost:  $49, plus $10 materials fee.

Bay Area Book Artists Annual Book Jam!

Sunday, October 21 from 11 am to 5:00 pm

Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Ave., Redwood City

Come join me at this fun, free celebration of all things bookish!  There will be hands on activities, artist talks, a member exhibition of artist books, printing press demonstrations and over 40 art vendors showing their books, cards, papers, ephemera and more!

Lots of free parking and free entry!
